TCSTR×(a)\mathit{TCSTR}\mathit{^{\times}}(a)
×{sgl,sum}\mathit{\times} \in \{\mathit{sgl}, \mathit{sum}\}
Dimension:
Cost
Granularity:
Activity

Description

Ratio between the total cost associated with all instantiations of an activity, and the sum of the service time of all instantiations of an activity.

Potential use

Event log in which the total cost in relation to the time taken for conducting activity instances is of relevance.

Assumptions

Ratio between total cost and service time should be as close to 0 as possible.

Desired Value:

MINIMIZE

Formula for practitioners

TC(a)ST(a)\frac{\mathit{TC}(a)}{\mathit{ST}(a)}

TC(a)\mathit{TC}(a) returns the total cost of activity aa.
ST(a)\mathit{ST}(a) returns the total service time of activity aa.

Formal Definition

TC×(a)ST(a)\frac{\mathit{TC}\mathit{^{\times}}(a)}{\mathit{ST}(a)}
The ×\mathit{\times} indicates that the PPI can take multiple forms, in this case, ×{sgl,sum}\mathit{\times} \in \{\mathit{sgl}, \mathit{sum}\}. If ×=sgl\mathit{\times} = \mathit{sgl}, then the function considers single events of activity instances for cost calculations, i.e., it uses TCsgl\mathit{TC}\mathit{^{sgl}}; if ×=sum\mathit{\times} = \mathit{sum}, then the function considers the sum of all events of activity instances for cost calculations, i.e., it uses TCsum\mathit{TC}\mathit{^{sum}}.
