Dimension:
Cost
Granularity:
Case

Description

Ratio between the total cost associated with all activity instances of a case, and the outcome units associated with all activity instances of a case.

Potential use

Event log in which the total cost in relation to the outcome units of cases is of relevance.

Assumptions

Ratio between total cost and outcome unit count should be as close to 0 as possible.

Equations

Formula for practitioners

TC(c)U(c)\frac{\mathit{TC}(c)}{\mathit{U}(c)}

TC(c)\mathit{TC}(c) returns the total cost of case cc.
U(c)\mathit{U}(c) returns the total outcome unit count of case cc.

Formal Definition

TC×(c)U×(c)\frac{\mathit{TC}\mathit{^{\times}}(c)}{\mathit{U}\mathit{^{\times}}(c)}
The ×\mathit{\times} indicates that the PPI can take multiple forms, in this case, ×{sgl,sum}\mathit{\times} \in \{\mathit{sgl}, \mathit{sum}\}. If ×=sgl\mathit{\times} = \mathit{sgl}, then the function considers single events of activity instances for cost and outcome unit calculations, i.e., it uses TCsgl\mathit{TC}\mathit{^{sgl}} and Usgl\mathit{U}\mathit{^{sgl}}; if ×=sum\mathit{\times} = \mathit{sum}, then the function considers the sum of all events of activity instances for cost and outcome unit calculations, i.e., it uses TCsum\mathit{TC}\mathit{^{sum}} and Usum\mathit{U}\mathit{^{sum}}.
