Description

Inventory cost associated with all activity instances of a case.

Potential use

Event log in which inventory cost information is recorded.

Assumptions

Minimizing inventory cost is desirable.

Desired Value:

MINIMIZE

Equations

Formula for practitioners

iinst(c)IC(i)\sum _{i \in \mathit{inst}(c)} \mathit{IC}(i)

inst(c)\mathit{inst}(c) returns the set of all activity instances in case cc.
IC(i)\mathit{IC}(i) returns the inventory cost of activity instance ii.

Formal Definition

iinst(c)IC×(i)\sum _{i \in \mathit{inst}(c)} \mathit{IC}\mathit{^{\times}}(i)
The ×\mathit{\times} indicates that the PPI can take multiple forms, in this case, ×{sgl,sum}\mathit{\times} \in \{\mathit{sgl}, \mathit{sum}\}. If ×=sgl\mathit{\times} = \mathit{sgl}, then the function considers single events of activity instances for cost calculations, i.e., it uses ICsgl\mathit{IC}\mathit{^{sgl}}; if ×=sum\mathit{\times} = \mathit{sum}, then the function considers the sum of all events of activity instances for cost calculations, i.e., it uses ICsum\mathit{IC}\mathit{^{sum}}.
